Depression is one of the most common mental disorders experienced by people living with HIV. If left untreated, it can impact various aspects of their lives and complicate adherence to antiretroviral therapy. Despite effective approaches to screening and treating depression in resource-limited settings, they are seldom utilized.
We integrated depression screening and treatment into the routine HIV care at the “Test&Treat” clinic in Odessa. We aim to share the results of this initiative in our article in the scientific-practical journal “Ukraine. Health of the Nation.“
Through the implementation of depression screening and treatment in standard medical practice, our goal is to improve overall health and treatment outcomes for people living with HIV.
This comprehensive approach not only addresses their physical well-being but also their psychological and emotional welfare.
